What to wear at Forest School

It is essential all children attending Muddy Mondays Outdoor Learning Forest School sessions are appropriately dressed.

Sessions take place throughout the year except in high winds and storms. Suitable clothing is very important.

If children are not suitably dressed they may not be able to attend that week’s session.

It is recommended all children  bring with them on their Forest School day:

-At least 3 layers of clothing on their top. An extra jumper is recommended on very cold days.

-A waterproof coat and trousers or all-in-one

-T-shirt (base layer), jumper and long trousers (no shorts please)

 -Wellingtons or sturdy waterproof boots

-Hat, gloves and scarf or neck warmer on colder days

-Sun hat and sunscreen (already applied) on warmer days

-A pair of extra socks (and another pair to change into back at school)

-A bag which clothing can be stored in and taken home following the session, in addition to the usual school 'book bag'.

-A re-fill able water bottle with water to drink during the session.

Please note: A 'what to wear' leaflet for parents / carers is included in the initial contact pack given to each group or setting prior to the initial session.
